Sanjib Chattopadhyay was a Bengali novelist and writer of short stories. He was born in Calcutta on 28 February 1936 in West Bengal of India. He was written many stories, spiritual fiction, novel and humanitarian.
Sanjeev Chatterjee is mainly known for his delightful compositions. His most famous novel Lotakombal was published in Desh magazine. In January 2018, at the Sahitya Akademi’s annual Akshar Utsav in Delhi, Sahitya Akademi President and playwright Chandrasekhar Kambar conferred the award on veteran writer Sanjeev Chattopadhyay.

Sanjeev Chattopadhyay, despite working for Desh Patrika for almost two decades, was in the habit of writing. During this time, he wrote three novels, Nirvane Anirban Buddha Bhagwan, Sri Krishner Shesh Kata Din and Sriradhar Shesh Kata Din.

His most notable works and famous novels are Lota Kambal, Shakha Proshakha and Swet Pathorer table, Censer, Agnisanket, Three X, Bulet, Barud, Swami-Stri Sambad Saptakanda, Purono Shei Diner kotha. He was awarded in 1981. He was Sahitya akademi awarded for his short story Shree Krishner Shesh Kata Din on 2018.
