Dakshinaranjan Mitra Majumder wrote some folklore and fairy tale in Bengali first. The Arya Nari novel is the most famous in it. The Arya Nari book is a folk tales and fairy tales collection.
Arya Nari novel was published on 1319 (Bengali Calendar). Before publishing Arya Nari novel, the author’s writings and collected fairy tales were published in some newspapers of Kolkata. A prominent publisher was promoted to publish the Arya Nari novel and Thakurmar Jhuli published in Calcutta in 1319 (Bengali Calendar) from the famous publishing house Bhattacharya and Sons. Dakshinaranjan Mitra Majumder was born in Ulain village of Savar upazila in Dhaka district. His mother’s name was Kusummayee Devi and father’s name was Ramadranjan Mitra Majumder.
He was admitted into class one at Mohan High School in Dhaka on 1887, when he was at the age of 10. Dakshinaranjan from Kishore Mohan High School was admitted to Dhaka class seven at Dhaka Collegiate School In 1896, while he could not do good at the time of his studies, leaving his father, Rajlaksmi Chowdhury, he was admitted to the class seven in Santoshi High School of Tangails. From the boarding of this school he studied up to class ten.
But suddenly the father decided to leave Tangail and in 1897, he got admitted to class 10 in Baharampur High School. He passed the Entrance Examination in 1898 from the first division. Then he was admitted to Brahampur Krishnath College, but he did not complete his studies. He died in his own house in Kolkata on 1956.
