The massacre at Jallianwala Bagh in 1919 is matter of grave shame. It is an unprecedented occurrence in the pages of history. It is beyond any word to describe the ruthlessness of the day. This book talks of the ending of Sipoy Mutiny, the Wahabi movement, the Partition of Bengal, Banga-Vanga Movement, the formation of a new age of fire and revolutionary movements dating back to the Partition of Congress into extremists and moderates. The book discusses the first and second revolutions in Delhi and Varanasi during this age of fire, the conspiracy of Lahore, Bengali revolutionary Rashbihari Sen and the self sacrifice of Bagha Jatin in the battle of Baleswar, the turmoil in Punjab, the silk conspiracy, and the heinous blood bath of Jallianwala Bagh.

Nihar Ranjan Gupta was a renowned Bengali detective fiction writer. He was a prominent physician also and during the second world war he joined as an army doctor and for serving was posted to various places in undivided India. He got the higher special doctoral degree from UK as dermatology and joined in Kolkata Medical College. Most of his works are based on popular mystery stories. He was born on June 6, 1911 in Lohagara upazila in Joshore of Bangladesh. Then he came to Calcutta in India and died on 20 February, 1956.
