The book on world history was written by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The world-famous book Glimpses of World History written by Shri Jawaharlal Nehru is useless for us to try to introduce the book anew. In the three years from October 1930 to August 1933, Glimpses of world history was written in various prisons in India. The author was serving a life sentence for participating in India’s freedom struggle and resisting British rule in India.
During his imprisonment, Jawaharlal Nehru took the opportunity of leisure and detachment in his own language and began to write about world history. He wrote it in a letter addressed to his daughter, as he often had no opportunity to oversee her daughter’s education due to his imprisonment.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru combined these questions when he was given a short leave of absence before being sentenced to two years in prison on February 12, 1934, when he was again convicted of sedition. Then in 1934 his sister Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Pandit collected these letters and arranged for the publication of a book called World History Context.
After his release in 1936, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru again took an active part in the political movement. Later, he has no responsibility for his busy schedule and, unfortunately, the pain of losing his family. Then the events in India also began to move forward with intensity and speed. Great changes and groundbreaking events were observed in Europe and the world. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was not only a spectator of all these events which were meaningful for the upcoming civilization, but he also took an active part in them as Pandit Nehru was one of the heroes with personality who combined the expansion of vision and apathy with reckless activity. During his travels in Europe, Nehru witnessed first-hand the recent events in the Western world. He came into close contact with the struggles of China and Spain.

Some Notable works of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru

This book has been called a new book for a long time. This book was revised by the author. And has been extensively rewritten and contains events until the end of 1938. Although he did these works outside of prison, it did not interfere with the subjective neutrality of the original composition. Rather it has been enriched with the contribution of greater experience and knowledge.

The Glimpses of World History is not just an account of events. As valuable as it is from the point of view of description, the impression of the personality of the writer is also present in it. His extraordinary mind and sentimental mind have made this history book unique. The size of the container written for the growing child was not affected. Its appeal is simple and straightforward: but the content discussion is nowhere shallow. Nowhere is the statement of the incident or the analysis of its significance overstated.
In the three years since the last edition of World History was published, many historic changes have taken place in India and around the world. The meaning and impact of all these changes are as vast as they are revolutionary. For those who want to get inspiration and direction from history, and who feel the need for pre-historic consciousness to read history, this book has now become richer and more meaningful.

Moreover, these events have made the author one of the best historians. He has reviewed the course of events in history for us with accurate and adventurous insights. The new Prime Minister of India and much-desired leader, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, is so entangled in the events that have exploited the current history that India has gained independence on the path of struggle and is now facing great problems in a peaceful burial with that determination. Like he has no retirement.

Author Jawaharlal Nehru said in his preface to the book that he did not know when and where these letters would be published or whether they would be published at all. India is shaking today in the house of various strange events. It is difficult to talk about the future now. Yet he has written these few words. He still has time to write, maybe not later.
These letters are written about history, which requires a little explanation. While reading the letters, the reader may understand his own explanation and explanation. In particular, he said to read the last letter, maybe it is reasonable to start this book from that last chapter, because the world has now turned upside down.
The letters in this book have taken on a larger size in writing. He had no idea it would take on a larger size than he had ever planned before writing it. In many of these letters he has expressed his views in very strong language. That view has not changed. But by the time he began to write the letters, his ideas about world history gradually changed when he wrote. If he had written now, maybe he would have written many things in a different way. But it is not possible for him to delete what he once said or to say it again, so they are published as they were. This book will be very much appreciated by the readers. So the book is given in PDF file on this page.
