The book Prithibir Itihas (History of India) was originally written by Jawaharlal Nehru with a letter addressed to his daughter Indira Gandhi.
Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the first woman Prime Minister of India, was only ten years old at that time. This book is translated into English by Sri Prabodh Chandra Dasgupta. While the author was suffering from tuberculosis, a friend asked him to read this English book written by Hon’ble Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. After reading the book, the writer who likes it very much, touches his soul. Then he thought of translating this book into Bengali.
