Poet Michael Madhusudan Dutta has written the book Meghnad Badh Kavya.

Michael Madhusudan Dutta was a renowned Bengali poet. Michael Madhusudan Dutta was a resident of Jessore district. Father Rajnarayan Dutta was a barrister civil court lawyer.

Madhusudan Dutta was born in January 1824 in English. At first he studied in a village school and then after finishing his schooling, his father Rajnarayan Bose admitted him to a school in Khidirpur in Calcutta, then took admission to a Hindu college.

In the six-year course there, he passed the BA examination with honors and received a scholarship. At that time he had a strong desire to go abroad, but his father Rajnarayan Babu decided to marry him to prevent him from going abroad and the wedding day was fixed but Madhusudan did not consent to the marriage so he ran away on the wedding day and went to the mission of the Christian clergy. There he hid for three days.

As a result, he did not get married. Adarer Dulal, the only descendant of the Dutta family, has given great pain to the hearts of all due to his education and disorder. It was at this time that he began to study at Bishop’s College. After spending 4 years there, he was admitted to literary work and became a novice, but at that time he was short of money because he had to go to Madras in search of money if he did not get any help from his father after he converted. There she became famous for her literary works and was fascinated by the daughter of the principal of Madras College and got married to Madhusudan Dutta but the marriage did not last long. He later married an English woman named Henrietta. During this time he taught in Madras and studied Greek, Telugu, Sanskrit, Latin etc. and acquired special knowledge. During this time he published a fragment called “Vision of the Past“.

After staying in Madras for eight years, he returned to Calcutta in 1856. After returning to Calcutta, he had to work as a clerk in a police court. He was later promoted to interpreter. And with the help of Maharaja Jatindra Mohan Tagore the play was performed at Belgachhia Theater.

Then the plays Sharmistha and Padmavati were published and began to be performed in different places. He wrote two satirical satire are Buro Shaliker Ghare Roo and Ekei Ki Bole Sabhyata (What is this called civilization).

Then he composed Tilottamasambhava poetry in Bengali in a fancy rhythm. The book was critically acclaimed by readers at the time, but he ignored it. Then in 1861 he composed the poem Kaustubhamani Meghnad Badh of Bengal Kavyakanan. With the publication of Meghnad Badh Kavya, his fame spread widely in Bangladesh. The poem Meghnad Badh Kabya written by him in Bengal at that time received a huge response and a lot of meaning. And he means that
On June 9, 1862, the poet’s wife left for London. He passed barrister in London for 5 years but in these 5 years he had to spend a lot of money in London and he did not have the money to return home. Eventually, the sea of ​​mercy, through the genuine efforts of Hon’ble Vidyasagar and with 6000 Indian rupees, freed the poet Madhusudan Dutta from debt and gave him a chance to return to his homeland.
. Arriving in Calcutta, he started a barrister in the High Court but could not earn such a living and began to suffer financially. For this purpose he wrote Kabitamala, Mayakanon and Hector Badh. But his financial situation did not change much, and there was a lack of money. Eventually seeing no such improvement in the barristery, he went to Manbhum as the manager of the king of Panchkot.

There he became physically weak and became ill. He came to Calcutta for health care and then went to Dhaka. But as there was no physical improvement, he returned to Calcutta. Due to financial hardship, he had to sell his furniture at that time. The wife’s body began to weaken and crumble, and on June 26, 1876, she passed away. Poet Madhusudan Dutta fell ill in bed at a charitable hospital and heard the news in silence. Three days later, on Sunday, June 29, at 2 pm, he passed away.

But his poem Meghnad Badh written at that time is still immortal. He gained special fame through this famous book of poetry.
