Dui Shataker Shrestha Bhoutik Omnibus (The best ghostly omnibus of two centuries) – compiled by Professor Pramathanath Bishi.

This book is composed of 31 stories of eminent writers and authors of Bengali literature and has been presented to the readers of Bengal.

From the first half of the nineteenth century to the present day of the twentieth century, the genre of short stories in American and English literature has undoubtedly occupied a significant place in ghost stories. However, Edgar Allan Poe, one of the greatest men in American literature, made miraculous stories and mysteries one of the main subjects of his stories. Nineteenth-century United States The journey of a group of novice adventurers westward from Europe (Western Expansion) becomes a Himalayan-proof obstacle, with rugged mountains, rugged deserts, and long-pervading, endless, unfamiliar, cosmic nature. And in order to overcome this obstacle, all these gold-seeking fortune-seeking whites faced and fell prey to various unexplained miracles. As a result, the American literature of the day was filled with the stories of their faith and painful miracle stories. As a result, in the first half of the last century, Edgar Allan Poe made the ghostly mystery story flourish in mass diversity.

The new society, the new sex life that developed in the new continent of America in the middle of the Rabindra century, created a huge miraculous literature about the vast expanse of that unknown country and the rare sex life. And after the death of Edgar Allan Poe, the tide of ghost literature in American literature flowed as a result of the announcement of the ghost story in his memory. In the monastery of the unknown American cosmic nature, man feared man as much as he feared cruel nature. And as a result, the field of literature was filled with supernatural stories.

However, the fact that Vidyasagar and Bankim chandra have tried to write ghost stories in our literature in this country is probably the result of their acquaintance with Edgar Allan Poe in contemporary times. It goes without saying that Vidyasagar was well versed in English literature, and Bankim chandra was well versed in continental literature in addition to English literature. Bankim chandra wrote his unfinished ghost story in his experience while living in Neguya, Medinipur.
Also, the emergence and disappearance of ghosts, despite the fierce passion of the imagination written by Trailokyanath Mukherjee after Bankimchandra, is a remarkable event. Parashuram, Prabhat Kumar, Rabindranath and Pramath Chowdhury have also left their mark of success in this regard. Kshirod Chandra Tarkalankar also ran a ‘miracle mystery magazine’.
Later, Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, was a major proponent of ghostly existence. Despite the successful role of judicious analysis in his writings, the occasional supernatural and miraculous story has enriched the arena of English short stories by embellishing its success.
Rabindranath Tagore Prabhat Kumar Mukherjee is undoubtedly a memorable name in Bengali literature as a successful storyteller of ghost stories. These were followed by Pramatha Chowdhury’s Ghost Story, Manilal Gangopadhyay’s Kayahiner Kahini etc. in Bengali literature. Later on, in the field of Bhushandi of Parashuram, there must have been a successful work of art which, though sheltered by ghosts, is embodied in the metaphor of the larger color of life.

Many of Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay‘s stories have succeeded in creating the Piyasi industrial facility in search of the supernatural, the direction of one world, by uniting nature and equality. Apart from the author Taranath Tantric, Rangini Devi’s rabbit, torchbearer etc. are full of miraculous stories.
And Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay is one of the most successful narrators of mystery thrillers and detective stories. The lack of successful ghost stories in Bengali stories has caused us a great deal of distress. In modern times, Narayan Gangopadhyay, Premendra Mitra, Manoj Basu, Ashapurna Devi, Harinam Chattopadhyay, Ashutosh Mukherjee, Sunil Gangopadhyay, Shirshendu Bandyopadhyay, the pursuit of invisible writers and attentive miracle stories have caused a stir in Bengali literature.
