After Rabindranath Tagore’s songs and poems, there is a place for his short stories as a special expression of Ravi’s talent, I cannot deny this.
He has written many plays of diverse nature. Some of them he wrote poems, songs and poems, then his short stories can be called a place. The special religion of Rabindra-Pratibha is expressed in short stories, but not in all his plays. Although many of his early plays, such as Raja O Rani (King and Queen) and Abandoned Art, are invaluable, Rabindra-Pratibha does not find special expression, in which he follows the trend of the then prevailing Panchangk tragedy. But in the case of short stories, it goes without saying that there is no such non-religious step. Only in the case of three short stories written at an early age can Bankim chandra’s footprints be seen vaguely under their feet. But when he gave up all three, he stepped into the realm of short stories. He did not bear the responsibility of collecting revenue by cultivating other people’s land. Not only that, he has been carrying the genre of short stories since then till the end of his life.

We also see that his style has flowed in parallel with the style of song and poetry. We see in his short stories all the changes and shadows that have taken place in his long life. Therefore, it would not be unjust to apply his poems to the criteria by which his poetry is judged, but it seems to be beneficial.

Rabindranath Tagore’s short story is basically complete in three volumes. Such as storytelling, he, short story and three companions. The period of composition of these short stories is from 1884 to 1941 i.e. 57 years of the poet’s life.
The subject matter of the discussion is 118 stories, and the period of composition is 57 years of the poet’s life.
Rabindranather Choto Galpo writing from 1891 can be said to be the beginning. Excluding the story of the beggar, he had written only three stories before, such as Ghat, Rajpath and Mukut.

Between 1891 and 1895, he wrote 44 stories, most of which were published in Sadhana. During these few years he composed the poems Sonar Tari and Chitra.

Then in 1899 the short story we didn’t get got in 1900 his eight short stories. From 1901 to 1912 we get only eight stories all pure.
Then at exactly 1914 he wrote seven stories. He did not write any short stories for the next two years. There we see Ghare Baire (outside the house) and Char Adhyay (foursome).

In 1917 he wrote three stories. During this time he composed the poem ‘Palataka‘. Besides, we have written three more books, short stories and three companions, which we see at different times. He wrote most of the short stories about rural life.
Rabindranath Tagore was a man of Calcutta. His ancestral property and livelihood were village based. Moreover, he has been there many times. And took full charge of inspecting the zamindari in 1891.

After returning from Bilat, he took charge of the zamindar and set out for North Bengal.
Shri Prabhat Kumar Mukherjee, the biographer of Rabindra, has skillfully explained these various events and meanings of the poet’s life. Rabindranath Tagore was a rich zamindar. So he had no way to interact with the rural life of that time. No matter how obvious the desire to meet in rural life was, the obstacles were insurmountable, so he had to see all this from a distance and imagine it in his mind.

We see various descriptions of Rabindranath’s novels and short stories in Bangladesh and descriptions of rural villages. He has written many stories about villages and small towns on the one hand and canal beels, barren and barren deserts on the other and especially the Padma river.

The author Pramathanath Bishi has specially discussed the short stories of Rabindranath Tagore in this book.
So it seems to be very acceptable and helpful for students, readers and researchers. Because in this book, the author has analyzed the composition period of Rabindranather short story and his haircut.
