World Poet Rabindranath Tagore wrote his memoirs.
I don’t know who gets the picture of life in the memory. But the one who is eager draws the picture. In other words, he is not sitting with a brush in his hand to keep an exact copy of what is happening. He puts out how much he omits according to his own preferences. He does not hesitate to sort out what is behind and what is behind. In fact, his job is not to write a history of painting.
In this way, the flow of events is flowing on the outside of life, and the picture is being drawn on the inside. There is yoga between the two but the two are not exactly one.
Poet Rabindranath Tagore has beautifully explained the various memories of life in his book Jiban smriti. He says we don’t have time to look at this picture inside us. Every now and then we look at a part of it. But most of it stays invisible in the dark. The painter who is constantly drawing, why he is drawing, when his painting is finished, who can tell in which gallery these pictures will be hung.
One day 5 years ago, when a writer asked Rabindranath Tagore about the events of his life, he once went to this news room to get news. He thought that he would stop by collecting two or four biographical materials. But when he opened the door, he saw that the memory of life was not the history of life – it was the handwriting of an invisible painter. The various colors that have fallen in it in different places are not an external reflection of Shillong as a store of his life. That color has turned him into his own juice. The pressure that has been put on him for hundreds of years will not be of any use in testifying in court.
Attempts to collect the history of this memory very accurately may fail, but there is an addiction to looking at pictures. When the path that the traveler is walking or the inn where he is living is not a picture of that path or that inn, then it is very necessary and very much more direct. When the need is over, when the traveler crosses over, it becomes a picture. When you look back at all the cities and fields that have been run through the rivers and mountains in the morning before entering the fair in the afternoon, you can see all the pictures in the light of the coming day. When the leisure of looking back at that picture happened, once he looked at it, the writer’s mind became absorbed in it.
The excitement that was born in the mind is only due to their past life. Of course, compassion does not go unnoticed. But the picture also has an attraction. It is not entirely true that Sita’s life was added to the pictures that Lakshman had presented to her in the first issue of Uttararamcharita for her amusement.
There is nothing in this memoir that deserves to be remembered forever, but it is not the literature that depends on the dignity of the subject, it is the people who love it if they can make it feel good. It will be worthy of a place in literature only if it is possible to express in words what has emerged in the form of images in one’s own memory.
Writer Rabindranath Tagore said, these are memoir images and similar literary materials. It would be a mistake to consider this as an attempt to write a biography. As such, this writing is very incomplete and unnecessary. This biography is based on such extreme quotes of the author and various stories.
