His father, Harihar Bandopadhyay spent his time in Brahmanbaria, Tangail and Bihar and Orissa states of India. He was a Bengali-speaking writer. His real name was Prabodh Kumar Bandopadhyay.

The essence of his work was the history of the struggles of middle-class and working-class people and he was deeply influenced by Marxist class struggle theory. He entered mathematics at Presidency College, Calcutta, at which time one of the college canteens entered the literary world by betting with friends. Bichitra Magazine is a reputed magazine of the then famous Kolkata magazine. Only reputed and famous writers could write in this magazine. His first story, Atasi Maami was published in the Bichitra magazine and it got widespread readership. After that he used to publish stories in various newspapers and he became a literary writer.

The book Uttarkaler Galpa Sangraha has come to dominate the creation of the period. This feeling did not come to an abrupt end in the life of Manik Bandopadhyay, a result of a deeper feeling of human life. The natural tendency to protest against wrongdoing and the downfall of society is as a result of fact-finding in people. This answer has to be reached in the past. There, too, the current storytelling has been compiled keeping in view the degradation of small art form.
Manik Bandopadhyay’s brilliant contribution to Bengali literature is not the excitement of art in political awareness. Starting with the philosophy of the life of the scientist, his theory of scientific optimism is his plan.
Naturally, this version is of more importance. This compilation is appreciated in the reader community due to the increasing popularity of manic literature.
So, hopefully you will love and definitely read this Bengali story book.
