Biography of Netaji Subhash Chandra Basu:
The book Kon Pathe Vol-1 was edited by Shishir Kumar Basu. The first volume of the book ‘Kon Pathe’ was published mainly with all the speeches, essays and letters of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the famous freedom fighter of Bengal, in 1938 and the first half of 1939. The book has been edited by renowned writer Shishir Kumar Bose.
Subhash Chandra Bose was a dedicated worker and officer of the Indian National Congress. He also became the All India President of the National Congress. He was born on 23 January 1897 in the city of Cuttack in the state of Odisha. His father Jankinath Bose was a prominent Indian lawyer. His father was a lawyer as well as speaking and directly involved in various religious and political platforms of the Indian freedom movement. His mother Prabhavati Devi was an Indian social activist and politician. In 1928 she was elected as the President of Mahila Rashtriya Sangh. Netaji Subhas Subhas Chandra Bose was their sixth son. They were 14 siblings. It was the freedom fighter ideals of his parents that inspired and motivated him.
In 1902, he was admitted to an English medium school in Cuttack. He studied there till sixth standard. In 1909 he was admitted to Ravens Collegiate School near Kotegiri. He was 12 years old then. In 1912, he got the second place in the matriculation examination by Calcutta University. In 2013 he studied Philosophy at Presidency College. Not wanting to work under the British in England despite securing fourth place in the Civil Service Examination in 1920, he refused their job and returned home. Returning home, he joined the freedom movement and joined the Indian National Congress. During this time he came close to Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das and regarded him as a political guru.
Political Life of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose:-
His political career began. He was imprisoned by the British government for joining the freedom movement of 1925. He has known many times in his political life. After his release from jail in 1927, he became the General Secretary of the National Congress, organized the annual meeting of the Indian National Congress in 1928 and was appointed as the General Officer Commanding of the Congress Volunteer Force. At that time, he was again arrested by the British government for civil disobedience.
He became the Mayor of Calcutta in 1930. During this time he wrote a book called ‘The Indian Struggle’.
In 1938, he was elected as the Congress President in the Haripura session. In 1939, he was re-elected as the president of the Congress in the Tripuri session. At this time he had a disagreement with Gandhiji and resigned from the post of President.
In 1939, he attended Congress meetings and was re-elected president of the Tripura Congress session, defeating Gandhiji’s favorite, Pattavi Sitamaiah, by 203 votes. But differences of opinion arose with Gandhiji on various issues and movements of the National Congress. Finally he resigned from that post too.
Finally, in 1939 he formed the Forward Bloc of the Indian National Congress with the aim of liberating the country and he assumed all powers as the President. On the eve of World War II, he formed the For Blog Forward Bloc party and it was under his leadership that a new era in politics began in the freedom movement in India.
The British government was horrified by the activities of Subhas Chandra Bose’s Forward Block Party. The British government at that time imprisoned hundreds of activists including Subhash Chandra Bose. Subhash Chandra Bose protested against the injustice and was released by the British government when he went on a hunger strike. In 1941 he was again put under house arrest. At this time he escaped the attention of the British and went to Germany. At that time, the expatriate revolutionary Rajbihari Bose built the ‘Indian National Army’ in Japan.
Finally, the revolutionary Rajbihari Bose handed over the entire responsibility of the army to Netaji Subhash Chandra. At that time the number of those forces was about 50 thousand. The name of this force was changed to Azad Hind Fauz. On 31 December 1943, the Indian national flag was hoisted at Andaman. With the slogan ‘Delhi Chalo’, he hoisted the Indian flag at Mairang in Manipur and captured the city of Kohima.
