Every nation’s drama originates and develops from the folk drama, but in our country it is not only that, but the opposite has happened. In our country, rather than the origin of drama from Yatra, rather Yatra itself has been influenced by drama. Bengali dramas originated from foreign English literature rather than Bengali dramas from Bangladeshi folk dramas or Bengali journeys. Bengali drama has to bear the cost of this mistake till date. That’s why the author thinks that although there is no shortage of first-class works in the poetry and fiction department of modern Bengal, there is a shortage in the theater literature department.
